We’re delighted to announce that Future You, the Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme’s innovative online tool, has won two industry awards at the Workplace Savings NZ Communications Awards.
The Awards are held annually by Workplace Savings NZ, and celebrate and showcase excellence within the financial services industry by all types of workplace super schemes.
Kiwi Wealth won both the Workplace Savings Excellence in Communication Award - for demonstrating simple, easy-to-read, consumer-focused communication - and the Best Overall KiwiSaver Member Experience Award, awarded to the KiwiSaver product, communication or service which offers the best consumer experience.
Of the four awards handed out at the Gala Awards Dinner held in Auckland on 7th September, Kiwi Wealth’s Future You tool took home half of them. We’re delighted with this result, which recognises the innovation, dedication and hard work that our team – who were on hand to collect the awards and are pictured above - has put into the development of the Future You tool.
Available to Kiwi Wealth members aged 18-65 who haven’t made a transfer from an Australian complying super fund, Future You not only shows members how much their KiwiSaver account could be worth when they retire, but also the kind of lifestyle they may be able to afford with their KiwiSaver account when they retire.
Members can choose as a goal one of three pre-set lifestyles – ‘No Frills’, ‘Flexible’ or ‘Deluxe’ - or input their own goal for retirement living. The tool then shows them whether they’re on track to achieve this goal lifestyle and how much they may be falling short by. The tool also shows members the difference making changes to their account – like increasing their contribution rate – could have on the amount they save for retirement.
Joe Bishop, General Manager Customer, Product and Innovation, who leads the team responsible for the development of Future You and was present to accept the awards, says he’s delighted that Future You has been recognised by Workplace Savings NZ.
“The development of Future You has been a core part of our innovation strategy over the last three years, and so it’s hugely rewarding to have that vision, effort and capability recognised at the leading industry awards.”
“The tool helps members understand how the decisions they take today – such as which investment fund they should choose or how much they should contribute – will affect their future retirement lifestyle.
“It helps ensure our members are able to make more informed decisions, which ultimately leads to better financial futures for Kiwis – which is a key objective for Kiwi Wealth as a business.”
“We believe Future You is game-changing and has the potential to transform the way Kiwis approach retirement planning. We’re continuing to develop the tool, adding new features that will help our members get a more complete picture of their retirement.”

And while we’re bragging…
We’re also delighted to announce that the Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme has received a Platinum Rating for ‘Outstanding value for money’ from SuperRatings, an Australasian superannuation industry specialist.
Every year SuperRatings analyse over 27 KiwiSaver schemes and award them a rating – ranking them as ‘Other’, ‘Silver’, ‘Gold’ or ‘Platinum’ depending on each scheme’s ‘value for money’. The ‘best value for money’ schemes receive a Platinum rating and this is the fourth year in a row that the Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme has been rated Platinum.
We’re delighted that industry specialists are so impressed with our communication skills, the experience of our tool and our value for money. However, the people we really want to impress are you, our members, so let us know what you think about Future You in the comments.
