How do I ensure my ID is properly certified?

Before we can action most types of withdrawals, we need to receive certified proof of identity from you. The certification must consist of a specific statement as well as be accompanied by certain information.

To action a withdrawal from your KiwiSaver account, we are legally required to ensure that certified proof of identity has first been provided. If your proof of identity has not been properly certified this will cause delays in the processing of your withdrawal application.

Photo identification certification must state on the copy:

I certify this to be a true copy of the original which I have sighted, and it represents the identity (or likeness) of [your name].

Address or non-photo ID certification must state on the copy:

I have sighted the original and certify this is a true copy of the original.

The trusted referee must include their name, signature, qualification to act as referee (e.g. lawyer, Justice of the Peace) and date the certification.
