If you meet the criteria in the KiwiSaver Act 2006 to make a serious illness withdrawal, complete the serious illness withdrawal form.
To make a withdrawal due to serious illness, you must meet the eligibility criteria as below:
A serious illness is defined in the KiwiSaver Act 2006 as being an injury, illness or disability:
- That results in you being totally and permanently unable to engage in work for which you are suited by reason of experience, education or training or any combination of those things; or
- That poses a serious imminent risk of death
If you have been a Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme member for longer than three months and you wish to apply for serious illness withdrawal from your KiwiSaver, complete the serious illness withdrawal form and send back to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have been a KiwiSaver member for less than three months, you should contact Inland Revenue directly.
The serious illness withdrawal can take up to 15 working days to be processed.
