If you are eligible for a KiwiSaver first home withdrawal, complete the first or second chance home withdrawal form.
Before applying for a KiwiSaver first home withdrawal, you should check you are eligible to withdraw your funds. The FAQ here has a quiz and sets out the criteria to confirm whether you are eligible.
If you are eligible, complete the first or second chance home withdrawal form and send back to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please ensure you also include certified proof of identity with your application.
To get an indication of what will be available to withdraw for your first-home, log into the portal here to check your fund balance. You are able to withdraw everything in your account except for $1,000 and any money that may have been transferred into your KiwiSaver account from an Australian superannuation scheme.
Please note first-home withdrawal requests can take up to 10 working days to process during which the balance of your KiwiSaver fund may change so we are unable to give an exact withdrawal figure until your application has been processed.
If you have previously owned a property (but not used the First Home withdrawal from your KiwiSaver to do this), Kāinga Ora will need to first asses your eligibility. More information can be found on their website here.
