Future You®, our online retirement planning tool, is designed to help members of the Kiwi Wealth KiwiSaver Scheme make more informed decisions about their KiwiSaver investment. But there’s more to it than that.
As part of providing information that help those decisions, we also provide education and other useful resources that not only help our members understand what they are doing, but why they’re doing it.
That’s one reason why Kiwi Wealth was just announced as coming in second equal place in the ‘Ongoing Investment Education’ category at the 2018 Eddy Awards, an annual event in the United States that recognises providers for their efforts to educate and motivate participants of their retirement savings schemes. This year’s awards were presented at Pensions &Investment's* East Coast Defined Contribution Conference in Miami.
“We know KiwiSaver is a complex product for many New Zealanders, and that’s why we’ve tried to lead the way in helping our members engage, understand and take action with their KiwiSaver investments,” said Ramesh Naran, Senior Manager, Digital & Innovation at Kiwi Wealth.
“Our members appreciate being able to use Future You** to see what their desired retirement lifestyle might cost them, see whether their KiwiSaver investment can afford them that lifestyle, and be empowered to take any necessary action. We give them the context that allows them to make decisions.”
Entries come from all over the globe, and our entry was successful in beating out American Express and Ralph Lauren, whose programmes were tied for third place. Schneider National took the top prize, while Kiwi Wealth was tied with E & J Gallo in second place.
“Being listed alongside some impressive names is a great endorsement for our organisation, particularly given the vast amount of resources many of the global providers have in comparison to Kiwi Wealth,” says Ramesh, “and further demonstrates that what we are doing here in New Zealand is world class.”
Last year Future You was named ‘Best KiwiSaver Member Experience’ at the Workplace Savings Awards, while it also came runner up at the WorldPensionSummit Awards in Europe in October 2017.
“We’ve got a lot planned for the coming year,” Ramesh says, “and we’re looking forward to delivering our members new ways to manage their KiwiSaver investments and help set themselves up for the retirement lifestyles they deserve.”
