Chair Gregg Behrens
Gregg has more than 35 years of experience in investment management, corporate & private banking, global custody and governance across North America, EMEA and APAC. He last served as CEO of the Asia Pacific region for Northern Trust Bank, and is also on the Board of Directors for AQR Funds.
Gregg is a Chartered Member of The Institute of Directors. He is also a member of The National Association of Corporate Directors, Independent Directors Council and Investment Company Institute.
Director Linda Robertson
Linda is professional company director with over 20 years governance experience, combined with 30 years senior financial management experience having worked in both the banking and energy sectors in New Zealand.
Linda holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Diploma in Banking. Linda is a Certified Treasury Professional, a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand (INFINZ), a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
Linda is currently Chair of Crown Irrigation Investments, Central Lakes Trust and Central Otago District Council’s Audit and Risk Committee; and she is a Director of Dunedin City Holdings, Local Government Funding Agency and Alpine Energy. Linda also serves on the Capital Markets Advisory Committee and the Risk and Audit Committee of The Treasury; and the Audit and Risk Committee of the Office of the Auditor General.
Director Michael O'Donnell
Mike "MOD" O'Donnell is a director of online global music company Serato, tourism marketing agency Tourism New Zealand, and IP marketing company G2G Knowhow. MOD is an independent business columnist for Stuff.
He was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Trade Me, head of wholesale investment at Kiwi Wealth (formerly Gareth Morgan Investments) and head of distribution at AMP Capital Investors. His current directorships include Garage Project, Pay Sauce, and Radio New Zealand.
Director David Havercroft
David is a director on the Kiwi Wealth board, bringing with him more than 35 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications sectors. His current directorships include Westpac and Spark, and he is also a technology advisor to the Board of Air New Zealand.
David was previously Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Spark New Zealand, and has held executive and management positions in IBM Asia Pacific, Cable & Wireless, and BT.
Director David Smith
David has over 35 years experience in Investment Banking and Corporate Finance. He is Chair of Kiwi Capital Funding and a Director of TDB Advisory, Kiwi Insurance and Catalist Markets.
David was previously Director, Investment Banking and Head of Debt Capital Markets at First NZ Capital (now Jarden).
Chief Executive Officer Rhiannon McKinnon
Rhiannon is the CEO at Kiwi Wealth, moving from her previous role as General Manager of Strategy and Partnerships with us. Since her arrival to New Zealand in 2007, she's worked across corporate finance, investor relations, treasury, M&A and strategy for companies such as Kiwibank, NZ Post, and Murray & Company.
Previously in London, Rhiannon worked in equity research for Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Cazenove.
She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has served three years on the Board of the CFA Society of New Zealand. Rhiannon has also been a Board member of various not-for-profit organisations and government entities, including the New Zealand Film Commission.
Rhiannon studied at the University of Cambridge and holds a MA (Cantab) in History.
Descended from Chinese and Welsh parents, she has lived in Wellington for the past 10 years and is married with three young children.
Chief Operating Officer Craig Holloway
Craig is our Chief Operating Officer, who joined us after more than a decade with Kiwibank where he worked in a variety of roles and departments. Craig spent four years as Group Financial Controller and three as Executive Advisor to the CEO at Kiwibank, as well as establishing the strategy function which won them an international strategy hall of fame award.
Craig began his career at KPMG, with extensive experience working at companies like Greenwich NatWest, New Zealand Dairy Board, and Fonterra since then.
Craig was born in Hawkes Bay, and spent part of his childhood in Nauru, a small Pacific island just below the equator. He studied at Victoria University, graduating with a BCA in Commerce, and is also a Chartered Accountant.
Acting Chief Investment Officer Susan Easton
Susan is our Acting Chief Investment Officer and leads the Investment Management Team, with overall responsibility for investment management processes and functions. She also holds the role of Head of Portfolio Management and Private Capital, where she is responsible for management of private equity investments as well as broader portfolio management, trading, market and risk implementation.
Susan has a 30 year career in global and domestic markets including equities, bonds and currency. Initially she began her career at O’Connor Grieve covering NZ equities before moving to portfolio management at ANZ Asset Management and then to Gareth Morgan Investments, the predecessor of Kiwi Wealth.
Susan has been with Kiwi Wealth since 2006 and has a BA and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington. She is also a Member of the Institute of Directors.
General Counsel Vanessa Simons
Vanessa is the General Counsel and Company Secretary for Kiwi Wealth, leading the risk and assurance, AML, compliance, and legal teams.
Vanessa has spent more than 20 years working in commercial and corporate law, both in private practice and in-house for a range of organisations from SOEs to startups. In 2015, she was included in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist as one of only 50 in-house lawyers across Australia and New Zealand recognised for helping shape innovation in the industry.
More recently, she led a team of lawyers as Head of Corporate Legal at the Financial Markets Authority, focusing on transitioning financial markets participants into the new Financial Markets Conduct regime. She also spearheaded the regulation of emerging fintech in New Zealand. In 2017, she was awarded the FMA’s Chairperson’s award in recognition of her work.
Before joining Kiwi Wealth, Vanessa was Head of Legal – Wealth & Insurance at our sister company, Kiwibank. She holds a first-class honors law degree from Otago University.
Chief Technology Officer Craig Ward
Craig is responsible for the technology strategy, operations and cybersecurity at Kiwi Wealth. He originally hails from Wales where his career in technology originally started - during the dot com boom of the late 90s.
Craig has experience working in the UK and across Europe. For the last decade, he's worked in New Zealand across a wide range of businesses (including telecommunications, finance, and government).
He was a finalist in the 2020 Deloitte Top 200 Young Executive of the year and features in the NZ Top 50 CIOs.
Chief Customer Officer Morne Redgard
Morne is our Chief Customer Officer, responsible for delivering outstanding experiences for our customers through innovative products and services. As the customer champion, he oversees our Growth, Product, Advice and Customer teams to ensure we’re all thinking about the customer in everything we do.
Morne has been with Kiwi Wealth for 2 years and was previously Head of Digital and Customer Experience, responsible for the end to end strategy, planning, and delivery of digital products and customer experiences.
Originally from South Africa, Morne emigrated to New Zealand in 2019 with his wife and 2 children. He studied at the University of Port Elizabeth and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce he has also attained a Postgraduate Diploma in financial planning and an Advanced Programme in Taxation. He is a registered financial adviser.
